- Wire color / circuit number
- Letter codes and circuit numbers identify conductors. Decode them with the legend in the applicable wiring publication; do not infer a wire from color alone.
- Ground / splice
- Ground points and splices are different connections. Their identifiers lead to location or connector views in the source.
- Numbered callout / arrow
- Callouts associate a drawing with a part or step. Arrows may indicate direction, movement, or a location; read the accompanying note.
- Warning / notice / note
- Warnings address potential harm; notices address potential damage; notes add context. Keep each attached to the step it qualifies.
