The GWM receives the transmission service required, engine service required and AWD service required messages from the PCM over the HS-CAN1.

Steering Mode

The IPC provides the steering mode RTT to indicate the driver steering mode selected (sport, comfort or normal). The IPC receives the steering effort status message from the GWM over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the steering effort status message from the PSCM over the HS-CAN2.

Vehicle Dynamics (Damper Control) (SVT Only)

The IPC provides 4 RTT indicators to inform the driver of the selected suspension mode. The IPC receives the suspension driver mode status message from the GWM over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the suspension driver mode status message from the VDM over the HS-CAN2.

Warning Messages

Adaptive Cruise Control

The message center provides messages intended to assist the driver while operating the adaptive cruise control. The IPC receives the adaptive cruise control warning request from the GWM over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the adaptive cruise control warning request from the CCM over the HS-CAN2.

Automatic Engine Shutdown

The message center provides messages to inform the driver about a pending engine idle shutdown and the reasons for the shutdown. The IPC receives the engine idle shutdown status from the GWM over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the engine idle shutdown status from the PCM over the HS-CAN1.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BLIS®)/Cross Traffic Alert (CTA)

The message center provides messages to inform the customer which side a vehicle is approaching and for Blind Spot Monitoring (BLIS®)/Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) faults. The IPC receives the cross traffic left alert status, cross traffic right alert status, side obstacle sensor status-left and the side obstacle sensor status-right messages from the GWM over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the cross traffic left alert status and the side obstacle sensor status-left messages from the SODL and the cross traffic right alert status and the side obstacle sensor status-right from the SODR over the MS-CAN.

Brake System

The message center provides brake system warnings for the following concerns and status:

Worn ceramic brake pads (SVT only) Low brake fluid level Parking brake status and faults ABS faults

On SVT vehicles only, the message center provides a warning message to indicate to the driver the brake pads are worn and require replacing. This is needed since the brake pads do not use the spring steel brake pad wear indicator used on other brake pads. When the brake pads are worn, the GWM sends the brake wear message request to the IPC over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the brake wear message request from the VDM over the HS-CAN2.

When the parking brake is applied, the BCM sends the parking brake status message to the GWM over the HS-CAN1. The GWM gateways the parking brake status message to the IPC over the HS-CAN3 to illuminate the brake warning indicator and display the parking brake applied message in the message center.

When a low brake fluid level condition exists, the BCM sends the brake fluid level low message request to the GWM over the HS-CAN1. The GWM gateways the brake fluid level low message request to the IPC over the HS-CAN3 to illuminate the brake warning indicator and display the brake fluid level low message in the message center.

When an ABS concern exists, the ABS module sends the ABS fault message to the GWM over the HS-CAN2. The GWM gateways the ABS fault message to the IPC over the HS-CAN3 to illuminate the ABS warning indictor and to display the check brake system message center warning message.
