Yes

REPAIR the circuit.

No

GO to N5

N5 CHECK THE A/C (AIR CONDITIONING) COMPRESSOR DISPLACEMENT CONTROL SOLENOID PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

Ignition OFF. Measure:

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

Yes

INSTALL a new A/C compressor. For 2.3L REFER to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS) (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Removal and Installation).

CLEAR the DTC and REPEAT the self-test. If the DTC returns, GO to N6

No

REPAIR the circuit.

N6 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION

Ignition OFF. Disconnect and inspect all PCM connectors. Repair:

corrosion (install new connector or terminals – clean module pins) damaged or bent pins – install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins – install new pins as necessary

Reconnect the PCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
