Move the slide until the VSS shows 5 Km/h (3 MPH), or the maximum speed attained.

9. Did the vehicle reach 5 Km/h (3 MPH) within 5 seconds?

Yes - vehicle is operating normally. This procedure does not apply.

No - replace the transmission pump assembly. REFER to: Transmission .

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING > SPECIAL TESTING PROCEDURES > FRONT PUMP

OUTPUT TEST- TORQUE CONVERTER PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE

1. Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a self-test and check for DTCs.

2. RECORD the RPM and TSS data while raising the engine RPM.

3. If the TSS stays at 0 RPM the torque converter is malfunctioning.

4. INSPECT the main control torque converter regulator valve.

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING > TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH (TCC)

For torque converter operation, REFER to: Torque Converter .

Condition Possible Sources Action TCC solenoid mechanically INSTALL a new TCC solenoid. stuck OFF REFER to: Shift Solenoids (SS) . DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the regulator valve. If Bypass Clutch Control Regulator bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL Valve stuck OFF a new main control valve body. TCC does not apply REFER to: Main Control Valve Body . DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the regulator valve. If Converter Release Regulator bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL Valve stuck OFF a new main control valve body.
