Message Purpose

ABS active

ABS module

Indicates the current ABS activity, on or off.

Ambient air temperature

PCM

This message is sent to the GWM and then to the VDM. Indicates the current ambient air temperature.

Brake pedal applied

PCM

This message is sent to the GWM and then to the VDM. Indicates whether or not the driver is applying the brake pedal.

Brake torque request

ABS module

This message indicates the current amount of braking requested by the ABS module. The VDM adjusts the suspension to prevent nose-diving during hard braking maneuvers.

Driven wheel torque actual

PCM

This message is sent to the GWM and then to the VDM. Indicates the current amount of torque being applied to the rear wheels in Newton meters.

Driven wheel torque request

PCM

This message is sent to the GWM and then to the VDM. Indicates the current amount of torque being requested by the driver through the launch control system.
