Removal

1. Drain the differential assembly. Refer to: Axle and Differential Draining and Filling (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, General Procedures).

2. Remove the differential assembly. Refer to: Axle Assembly (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, Removal and Installation).

3. NOTE: The differential housing cover bolts are low profile external torx. Use an EPL16 socket to remove the bolts.

Remove the differential cover bolts and the differential cover.

Installation

1. Clean the differential cover and differential housing mating surfaces. Refer to: RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation (303-00 Engine System - General Information, General Procedures).
