Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the APIM self-test.

Are any APIM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes

REFER to: Information and Entertainment System (415-00 Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display) .

No

GO to C8

C8 CHECK FOR CORRECT APIM (SYNC MODULE) OPERATION

Ignition OFF. Disconnect and inspect the APIM connector. Repair:

Corrosion (clean module pins or install new connectors or terminals) Damaged or bent pins (install new terminals or pins) Pushed-out pins (install new pins as necessary)

Reconnect the APIM connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Wait at least 2 minutes for the APIM to re-initialize. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?

Yes

CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, PERFORM the APIM Hardware Test.

The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.

Rear parking aid camera Luggage compartment lid position data concern LIN concern BCM ABS module concern PSCM concern (active guidelines only)

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-Checks

Verify the luggage compartment lid is fully closed. Verify the inoperative feature is enabled in the settings menu. Refer to the Owner's Literature. For active guideline concerns, verify the concern was not caused by the steering wheel being in the straight ahead position. Active guidelines are not displayed unless the steering wheel is rotated. If the rear video camera is not configured after replacement, some video functions will be inoperative. Verify the rear video camera configuration using the diagnostic scan tool.
