SYNC Module [APIM] to Universal Serial Bus (USB) Port Cable
Removal
NOTE: The USB cables are taped into the wiring harness. Because the USB cables cannot be removed from the harness, this procedure applies to replacement of the USB cables only.
Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC
1. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
2. Remove the APIM. Refer to: SYNC Module [APIM] (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC, Removal and Installation).
Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display
3. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
4. Remove the APIM. Refer to: SYNC Module [APIM] (415-00 Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display) .
Installation
Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC
1. NOTE: The front USB port and cable is routed directly to the APIM.
NOTE: The rear USB port and cable located in the floor console is routed directly to the APIM.
Overlay the new USB cable following the routing shown.
1. Secure the new USB cable to the wiring harness with tape or zip ties as necessary.
2. Cut both ends off the original USB cable.
