Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
The ANC system may not be compatible with speakers, other audio system components, and audio system architectures not approved by Ford. Ensure that no modifications have been made to the audio system. Inspect the LHF, RHF, RHR, and LHR door midwoofer speaker locations for items that may be blocking the speaker sound output.
PINPOINT TEST F : A LOW FREQUENCY NOISE IS HEARD FROM THE AUDIO SYSTEM
F1 CHECK FOR ANC (ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL) MICROPHONE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) PRESENT IN THE DACMC (DIGITAL AUDIO CONTROL MODULE C) OR SPEAKER DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) PRESENT IN THE AUDIO DSP (AUDIO DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING MODULE) MODULE
Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the self-test for the following modules:
DACMC Audio DSP module
Are any ANC microphone Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded in the DACMC or any speaker Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded in the audio DSP module?

F2 VERIFY IF THE CONCERN IS RELATED TO THE ANC (ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL) SYSTEM
Close the luggage compartment lid and all doors. Ignition ON. Turn the audio system off. Determine if an observable symptom is present. Enable the ANC system by starting the vehicle.
