Is the microphone mounted correctly?

Gain access to the rear ANC microphone. REFER to: Active Noise Control Microphone (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation). Inspect the microphone for correct mounting.

The microphone is snapped into the mounting bezel. The microphone is seated properly. The microphone mounting bezel is properly glued to the headliner with no gaps between the headliner and all four corners of the microphone mounting bezel.

Is the microphone mounted correctly?

Yes

GO to F13

No

INSTALL the ANC microphone and/or mounting bezel correctly. REFER to: Active Noise Control Microphone (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation).

F13 INSPECT THE REAR ANC (ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL) MICROPHONE FOR DAMAGE

Inspect the microphone and microphone mounting bezel for damage.

Is any damage present?

Yes

REPLACE the microphone or mounting bezel as needed. REFER to: Active Noise Control Microphone (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation).

No

GO to F14

F14 CHECK THE ANC (ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL) AUDIO SIGNALS FROM THE ACM (AUDIO FRONT CONTROL MODULE) TO THE AUDIO DSP (AUDIO DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING MODULE) MODULE

NOTICE: This pinpoint test step directs testing circuits using a back-probe method. Use the special back-probe tool POM6411. Do not force test leads or other probes into connectors. Adequate care must be exercised to avoid connector terminal damage, while ensuring that good electrical contact is made with the circuit or terminal. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to wiring, terminals, or connectors, and may cause subsequent electrical faults.

Place the vehicle on a hoist. Ensure all four wheels are off the ground and not in contact with anything. Close the luggage compartment lid and all doors. Enable the ANC system by starting the vehicle. Ensure the audio system is off. While taking the gasoline engine through the RPM range in various gears and back-probing ACM C240A and C240B, measure the AC voltage.
