Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes

No

GO to HX21 .

REPAIR the open circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

HX21 CHECK FOR A SHORT BETWEEN CIRCUITS

• Measure the resistance between:

( + ) FTP Sensor Connector, Harness Side

( - ) FTP Sensor Connector, Harness Side

FTP

VREF

FTP

SIGRTN

• Measure the resistance between:

( + ) FTP Sensor Connector, Harness Side

( - )

FTP

Ground

Is the resistance greater than 10K ohms?

Yes

No

GO to HX22 .

REPAIR the short circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

HX22 CHECK THE FTP CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

• Ignition ON, engine OFF.

• Measure the voltage between:

( + ) FTP Sensor Connector, Harness Side

( - )

FTP

Ground

Is any voltage present?

Yes

No

REPAIR the short circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

GO to HX23 .
