Are the voltages greater than 10.5 V?

Yes

No

GO to HX27 .

REPAIR the open circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

HX27 CHECK THE CANV CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

• Ignition OFF.

• PCM connector disconnected.

• Measure the resistance between:

( + ) Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Valve

Connector, Harness Side

( - ) PCM Connector,

Harness Side

CANV - Pin 2

CANV

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes

No

GO to HX28 .

REPAIR the open circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

HX28 CHECK THE CANV CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

• Measure the resistance between:

( + ) Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Valve Connector, Harness Side

( - )

CANV - Pin 2

Ground

Is the resistance greater than 10K ohms?

Yes

No

GO to HX29 .

REPAIR the short circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

HX29 CHECK THE CANV CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

• Ignition ON, engine OFF.

• Measure the voltage between:

( + ) Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Valve Connector, Harness Side

( - )

CANV - Pin 2

Ground
