D1 CHECK THE CPP (CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION) SWITCH (CPP_TOP) PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PID)
Ignition ON. Using a diagnostic scan tool, view PCM Parameter Identifications (PIDs). Monitor the PCM CPP_TOP PID while pressing and releasing the clutch pedal.
Does the PID value read "YES" with the clutch pedal pressed AND "NO" with the clutch pedal released?
Yes | GO to D4 |

No | If PID always read "NO", GO to Pinpoint Test C If PID always reads "YES", GO to D2 |
D2 CHECK THE CPP (CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION) TOP OF TRAVEL SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Ignition OFF. Disconnect PCM C1551B (2.3L), C1381B (3.7L) or C175B (5.0L, 5.2L). Measure:
