PCM

PINPOINT TEST D : P0833 OR P170A

D1 CHECK THE CPP (CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION) SWITCH (CPP_TOP) PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PID)

Ignition ON. Using a diagnostic scan tool, view PCM Parameter Identifications (PIDs). Monitor the PCM CPP_TOP PID while pressing and releasing the clutch pedal.

Does the PID value read "YES" with the clutch pedal pressed AND "NO" with the clutch pedal released?

Yes

GO to D4

No

If PID always read "NO", GO to Pinpoint Test C If PID always reads "YES", GO to D2

D2 CHECK THE CPP (CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION) TOP OF TRAVEL SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

Ignition OFF. Disconnect PCM C1551B (2.3L), C1381B (3.7L) or C175B (5.0L). Measure:
