Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the self-test for the following modules:

Are any ANC microphone Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded in the DACMC or any speaker Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded in the ACM?

E2 VERIFY IF THE CONCERN IS RELATED TO THE ANC (ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL) SYSTEM

Close the luggage compartment lid and all doors. Ignition ON. Turn the audio system off. Determine if an observable symptom is present. Enable the ANC system by starting the vehicle. Determine if an observable symptom is present.

Is an observable symptom only present when the engine is on?

Yes	GO to E3
No	• If an observable symptom is only present when the engine is off, REFER to: Information and Entertainment System (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC, Diagnosis and Testing). E3 VERIFY IF THE CONCERN IS RELATED TO THE ANC (ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL) SYSTEM WITH THE VEHICLE’S WHEELS STATIONARY

With the vehicle stationary, take the gasoline engine through the RPM range and verify if there is an observable symptom present. Determine if an observable symptom is present. Disable the ANC system by opening the driver's door. With the vehicle stationary, take the gasoline engine through the RPM range and verify if there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present when the driver's door is open?

Yes
