Removal

WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Position the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

3. Remove the rear subframe. Refer to: Rear Subframe (502-00 Uni-Body, Subframe and Mounting System, Removal and Installation).

4. Disconnect the quick release coupling, routing clips and the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00C Fuel System - General Information - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT/5.0L Ti-VCT V8 (308kW/418PS), General Procedures).
