The Front USB Port (USB1) Is Inoperative Or Does Not Operate Correctly

The MIT 105-00120 is powered by the USB port

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions B1252:04 USB Port: System Set by the APIM when a failure is detected on the front USB port (USB1) Internal Failure internal APIM circuitry. B1252:11 USB Port: Circuit Set by the APIM when a short to ground or over-current (overloaded) condition Short To Ground is detected on the front USB port/cable (USB1). This can be caused by a fault in the USB port/cable or customer's USB device.

PINPOINT TEST U : THE FRONT USB (UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS) PORT (USB1) IS INOPERATIVE OR

DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

U1 CHECK THE FRONT USB (UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS) PORT FOR POWER OUTPUT

Ignition ON. Connect: MIT 105-00120 to the front USB port.

Does the MIT 105-00120 power on from the front USB port?

Yes

GO to U2

No

GO to U3

U2 RESET THE APIM (SYNC MODULE) AND RECHECK THE SYNC® SYSTEM OPERATION

Remove any devices connected to the USB ports and audio input jack. Carry out an APIM power reset by disconnecting the battery for 1 minute, then reconnecting it. Ignition ON. Wait at least 2 minutes for the APIM to re-initialize. Connect: MIT 105-00120 to the front USB port.
