U3 CHECK THE APIM (SYNC MODULE) FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) B1252:04 OR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) B1252:11
Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the APIM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Perform the APIM self-test.
Is DTC B1252:04 or DTC B1252:11 present?
Yes | GO to U4 |

U4 INSPECT THE FRONT USB (UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS) CABLE AND APIM (SYNC MODULE)
Ignition OFF. Disconnect: Front USB Cable from the APIM ( USB cable with black end). REFER to: SYNC Module [APIM] (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC, Removal and Installation). Inspect the APIM connector port and both ends of the front USB cable for damage. Remove any debris.
Is any damage present?
Yes | • For the front USB cable, INSTALL a new front USB port/cable. REFER to: SYNC Module [APIM] to Universal Serial Bus (USB) Port Cable (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD /SYNC, Removal and Installation). • For the APIM, PERFORM the APIM Hardware Test. U5 CHECK THE FRONT USB (UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS) PORT FOR FUNCTIONALITY
Connect: Front USB Cable to the APIM. Connect: MIT 105-00120 to the front USB port. Select USB mode on the MIT. Operate the audio system in USB mode and observe the audio output.
