AE5 TEMPORARILY REMOVE THE POWER FROM THE APIM (SYNC MODULE) AND RECHECK THE SYSTEM OPERATION
Ignition OFF. Disconnect: Negative Battery Cable from the battery post. Wait for 1 minute. Connect: Negative Battery Cable to the battery post. Ignition ON. Perform various FDIM touch commands and observe the FDIM operation.
Does the FDIM respond correctly to each touch command?
Yes | The FDIM is operating correctly at this time. |

No | GO to AE6 |
AE6 REMOVE THE FCIM (FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE) AND RECHECK THE SYSTEM OPERATION
NOTE: The FDIM can only sense one touch command at a time. If any objects are pressed against the touchscreen (including wiring or components behind the trim panel surrounding the FDIM), the FDIM can appear to be inoperative.
Remove the FCIM, but do not disconnect any electrical connectors. REFER to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation). Perform various FDIM touch commands and observe the FDIM operation.
Does the FDIM respond correctly to each touch command?
Yes | The FDIM is operating correctly at this time. REINSTALL the FCIM and ensure the FDIM opening is properly aligned with the FDIM and that no objects are in contact with the FDIM touchscreen. |
