Coolant Pump — Removal — Engine Cooling - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW & 314PS) · Reference 5875

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > COOLANT PUMP > REMOVAL

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining and Vacuum Filling .

2. Remove the retainers and the engine appearance cover.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .

4. Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.

NOTE: Make sure the accessory drive belt is positioned so coolant can not contaminate the belt.

5. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counter clockwise and position aside the accessory drive belt.
