156. Remove the intermediate clutch plate snap ring.

157. Remove the intermediate clutch plates. Inspect the clutch plates for excessive wear or damage. If the clutch plates are excessively worn or damaged replace as necessary. If the clutch plates are not excessively worn or damaged, they can be reused.

158. Using the special tool, remove and discard the intermediate clutch return spring retainer. Use Special Service Tool: 307-525 Compressor, Clutch Spring.
