Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe (309-00A Exhaust System - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW/314PS), Removal and Installation). Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe (309-00B Exhaust System - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS), Removal and Installation). Step 2

1. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.

2. Push inward on the 2 tabs and detach the LH cable from the bracket.

3. Rotate the cable, slide the pin upwards and detach the cable from the equalizer.

Step 3

1. Remove the parking brake cable bracket nut. Torque : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

2. Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt. Torque : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
