Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

2. NOTE: Vehicles are equipped with either an underbody shield or a subframe bracket and underbody shield assembly.

1. Loosen the 2 front bolts, remove the remaining bolts and the underbody shield.

2. Loosen the 2 front bolts, remove the remaining bolts and the subframe bracket and underbody shield assembly.

3. Remove and discard the engine oil filter.
