PINPOINT TEST X : THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) LOWER STEERING WHEEL SWITCHES ARE
INOPERATIVE OR DO NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
X1 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) LOWER STEERING WHEEL SWITCH PARAMETER IDENTIFICATIONS (PIDS)
Ignition ON. Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the SCCM Parameter Identifications (PIDs). Monitor the steering wheel switch Parameter Identifications (PIDs) while pressing each RH lower steering wheel switch.
Voice (SW_VOICE) Mute (SW_MUTE) Volume + (SW_VOLUP) Volume - (SW_VOLDOWN) Seek-/Phone (SW_SEEKMINUS)/(SW_PHONE) Seek+/End (SW_SEEKPLUS)/(SW_END)
Do the PID values agree with the switch positions?
Yes | GO to X10 |

No | • If one or more, but not all PID values are incorrect or always read one particular switch position, INSTALL a new RH lower steering wheel switch. REFER to: Steering Wheel Multifunction Switch (211-05 Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components, Removal and Installation). • If all PID values are incorrect or always read one particular switch position, GO to X2 |
X2 CHECK FOR IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U0212:00
Ignition ON. Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the IPC. Ignition OFF. Ignition ON. Wait at least 10 seconds. Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0212:00 set in the IPC?

X3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE FROM THE SCCM (STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE)
WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.
Ignition OFF. Remove the driver airbag. REFER to: Driver Airbag (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation). Disconnect: RH Lower Steering Wheel Switch C2367. Disconnect: LH Lower Steering Wheel Switch C2366. Ignition ON. Measure:
