19. Position main bearing cap No. 4 on the cylinder block and keeping the cap as square as possible, alternately draw the cap down evenly using the new bolts until the main bearing cap is seated.

NOTE: While tightening the main bearing vertical bolts, push the crankshaft forward and the No. 4 main bearing cap rearward to seat the crankshaft thrust washers.

20. Tighten the main bearing bolts.

Torque:

Stage 1: 24 lb.ft (33 Nm)

Stage 2: 135°
