REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > COOLANT PUMP > REMOVAL

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining and Vacuum Filling .

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .

3. Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.

4. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS).

NOTE: Cover the A/C compressor belt to prevent coolant contamination of the belt.

5. Completely cover the A/C compressor belt with waterproof plastic.

6. Remove the thermostat housing. Refer to: Thermostat Housing .

7. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
