REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FUEL TANK > REMOVAL

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .

3. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to: FUEL TANK DRAINING - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW/314PS).

4. Remove the muffler and tailpipe. Refer to: MUFFLER AND TAILPIPE - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW/314PS).
